Bokta

Everything Bokta does

One loop: shop, pantry, cook, plan, shop. The bookkeeping in between is the product.

Getting food in

Bokta starts with what is actually in your kitchen.

Barcode, photo, or receipt

Scan a barcode, photograph an item, or scan a grocery receipt. Bokta can turn what you bought into pantry entries instead of making you type everything by hand.

Recognition and matching

It can recognise products, match them against things already in the pantry, and catch likely duplicates.

Confirm the uncertain ones

Anything it is not sure about stays a question you confirm, rather than a silent guess.

Keeping the pantry current

Remaining amounts

Cook with an ingredient and tell Bokta how much you used. The pantry updates what is left.

Partial packs

Half a carton, a handful, three portions from a larger pack, or 150g rather than the whole package. The remainder stays in the pantry.

Expiry

Quantities and expiry information make the pantry useful for more than answering whether you own something.

Recipes, plans and shopping

Recipes that understand the pantry

Bokta compares recipes against the food you already have, and shows what is available, running low, or missing.

Plan from what you have

Add a meal and Bokta already knows which ingredients you own. Change the plan and the rest of the system changes with it.

Shopping from the gap

Anything missing can move into the shopping list. Anything you already own stays out of it.

Shop, scan, done

Bring the groceries home, scan them in, and the loop starts again. You are not rebuilding the same information at every step.

What you actually ate

Calories and macros as you go

Because Bokta knows the food, quantities and portions being used, it can keep nutritional information such as calories and macros without a second retelling of the meal.

Count the amount you used

Use part of a pack and Bokta counts that part, not the whole package.

Use what needs using

Surface what needs using and show meals that fit what is already available, so food is used before you buy another version of the same thing.

Still to be confirmed
